HOME OF THE DRAGONS

Komodo is the common term used for a primarily volcanic chain of islands located between Sumbawa & Flores, but it’s most well known to be home to the world’s largest lizard.

The national park was originally founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon and has become a UNESCO World Heritage site, selected as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Komodo National Park has it all for both the divers and island excursions lovers. The park includes the three larger islands, those are Komodo, Padar, and Rinca, as well as the other 26 smaller ones where you can go trekking and enjoy the most magical sundown moment.
This place is also a part of the Coral Triangle, which contains some of the richest marine biodiversity on Earth, making it the favorite spot for divers all around the world.

Komodo National Park is a glorious realm of translucent seas, glittering reefs, pink sand beaches, and lush volcano- islands. It’s one of the top snorkeling and diving spots on the planet, with a festival of marine life, from giant trevallies, groupers, and sweetlips to schools of tiny iridescent anthias. Drift snorkels bring you above exquisite coral gardens and to seamounts patrolled by rays and hawksbill turtles. Sail around green savannah mountains, paddle or kayak in crystal clear water, relax on a pink beach, discover one of the most preserved marine life, trek to Jurassic looking panoramas will make this expedition memorable. Not only can you see the original habitat of the dragon, but explore the park and enjoy the unbeatable beauty of Komodo Islands.

DAY 1
LABUAN BAJO
KANAWA
SEBAYUR KECIL

Our staff will meet you at the airport at Labuan Bajo and accompany you to the harbor to board your vessel moored 20 minutes from the airport. The Cruise Director welcomes you aboard while the chef concocts a delicious meal to be served on deck. Set sail towards Kanawa where you will spend the afternoon relaxing on pristine white sand beaches, cooling off in the vivid turquoise ocean, or exploring coral reefs which teem with marine life. Keep an eye out for dolphins, which love to swim alongside the bow. A short sail to Sebayor Island Here, you can experience exquisite sunset views.

The day is not over yet, we will cruise toward Sebayor Island to witness a magnificent sunset after a short 20 min hike to the top of the island.

DAY 2
SEBAYUR
GILI LAWA LAUT

Lie in or enjoy an early sunrise for your first day in Komodo National Park. Heading North, today we visit Gili Lawa Darat’s long stretches of deserted beaches where you can embark on a spectacular snorkeling adventure amongst pristine coral gardens.

Some of the best dive sites in Komodo National Park including Castle and Crystal Rock, Shotgun, The Passage, and Lighthouse are in this area. Alternatively, enjoy any of the other water sports on board or relax on secluded beaches. Trek up the hill to enjoy the unique sunset with beautiful landscape scenery.

DAY 3
GILI LAWA
KARANG MAKASSAR (MANTA POINT)
PINK PEACH

Following the eastern coast of Komodo Island, observe the trails of manta rays migrating to the southern part of the Komodo National Park. Our crew will guide you snorkeling amongst those gentle giants who like to play with the currents & feed close to the surface.

Pink Beach is an iconic spot in Komodo, snorkel or dives through spectacular walls of fish looking out for blue ribbon eels and crocodile fish. Here you can swim through caves, somersault through chimneys, and marvel at the coral canyons.

In the evening, our wonderful staff will set up a spectacular beach BBQ at sunset where you can lay back and watch the glittering heavens come alive.

DAY 4
TAME THE DRAGONS
KOMODO ISLAND
KARANG MAKASSAR
PADAR

This is your first opportunity for an encounter with the legendary Komodo dragons. Meet your ranger at Soro Liah station who will take you for an early trek across the bushes of the park. Spot the wild deers, and the peaceful buffaloes, and follow your guide on the trail of the endemic Komodo Dragon.

Jump back on board for a sumptuous lunch and enjoy a smooth sailing and a chill afternoon on the island of Padar. Spend a lazy or an active day, as your mood dictates. A climb up Padar’s verdant slopes will yield spectacular 360 degrees views across the park landscape and the island’s four bays, fringed with grey or white sand. Resident wildlife includes sea eagles, deers, and goats.

Under the water, Pillarsteen has four large pinnacles covered in soft corals, as well as canyons, caves, swim-throughs, and chimneys. Watch out for the brightly colored red and purple fire urchins.

Sail to far south of Rinca Island, spending the night in Horseshoe bay.

DAY 5

SIABA BESAR

Spend a lazy or an active day, as your mood dictates. A climb up Padar’s verdant slopes will yield spectacular 360 degrees views across the park landscape and the island’s four bays, fringed with grey or white sand. Resident wildlife includes sea eagles, deers, and goats.

DAY 6
NUSA KODE
MAWAN
SIABA BESAR

From Nusa Kode, spend the morning sailing along the west coast of Rinca Island towards central Komodo National Park.

Mauan’s superb reef is teeming with turtles and can be appreciated by divers and snorkelers as well. Mauan harbors a sporadic manta ray cleaning station, where the animals congregate to have cleaner fish remove parasites and other organisms from their skin.

A short sail after that and you will be in Siaba Besar Bay for an evening surrounded by mangroves.

DAY 7
SIABA BESAR
RINCA
KELONG ISLAND

Make your way to Rinca Island for another chance at meeting with Komodo Dragons. From Loh Buaya ranger station, trek to the top of Rinca for an encounter with monkeys, snakes, baby dragons & adult ones alike.

After an afternoon basking in the sun and the turquoise waters, you will be moored in Kelong Island to observe the thousands of bats fly away at sunset and a last BBQ on a private beach.

DAY 8
KELOR ISLAND
LABUAN BAJO

We will wake up anchored in Kelor Island and have one last hearty breakfast onboard venturing on our very last adventure. After our little adventure, we will bid farewell to the ship and her crew.

We cruise into the harbor as we enjoy our lunch together and enjoy a leisurely lunch and say our goodbyes before being escorted to the airport for your onward destination.

Our tenders will take you ashore for your transfer to the airport for your onward travel.
